Jordan from Solar Service was extremely professional and helpful to get our solar system back online! I called them on a Thursday and they were able to come out the next day and diagnose the issue, and the repair was completed the following week. He also offered some good recommendations for the solar system as well as the home electrical as a whole, and we ended up also installing whole home surge protection based on the recommendations.Service fees were reasonable and I am definitely happy with the work they performed. I will definitely call them again for any future work we need!

The team at Solar Service saved us in these 102 degree days! Our power provider had a 12-hour outage that caused a fault between it and our solar system. Though the grid was back on, something with our solar system prevented us from getting grid power, necessary to run our AC unit. We were surviving solely on the battery backup system. We called Enphase, the product company. They tested the system but were unable to help. Per their recommendation, we called companies that Enphase listed as installers. We could only leave messages with them (fyi - Greenbelt was the only one that eventually called us back). We then looked up who is a local service company (not installer), saw the reviews for Solar Service, and gave them a call. The first surprise was that they actually answered (unlike the others)! Brian was super helpful. Although they were booked out a few days, he understood the severity of our situation. It wasn't necessarily a solar system repair that could be put off but something preventing us from being connected to the power grid when we needed AC. He squeezed in their technician, Zane, for that afternoon. Zane was awesome! Within an hour, Zane had it diagnosed and repaired! The problem was a 250V/60A fuse AND a surge protector. SOLAR SERVICE ROCKS!!!! I'm calling Enphase and making sure they have Solar Service listed as our main service company moving forward. After a month of numerous unexpected breaks and expenses with our house, it was a relief to find a company that treated us like human beings and were there to help, not take advantage.

Jordan did a great job in helping us find and fix our solar system issue. We have had issues every since Longhorn installed our system. It turned out that Longhorn didn't install all the MCI units per the design. With 2 MCI units missing, our inverters kept failing and were throwing error codes, limiting our production. Jordan identified where the missing MCI units were supposed to be and installed two more. Since the repair, the system is back online and production is up.

The inspector was great, Zane was courteous and knowledgeable. I'm greatful that the report is full of pictures outlining everything he was able to look at. We hired Solar Service for a detach and reset as part of our roof replacement. Our setup is fairly complicated, with a SunPower system using Enphase microinverters along with a Tesla solar and Powerwall system, but Orlando handled the installation well. After the panels were reinstalled, both systems were working properly and have continued to perform great.While the panels were on the ground, some of them fell over because of strong wind and weather. When I reported the issue, Harrison and Josie in the back office were responsive, and Orlando came out promptly to secure them.We also appreciated that panel cleaning was included at no additional charge. Overall, Orlando did a great job with a complex installation, and Harrison and Josie communicated well and were responsive throughout the process.

We needed some repair work and a check up of our 14 year old PV system. The company that installed the system is no longer in operation, so we needed a new service company. Today Zane came out to clean the solar panels. He did an amazing job!!! Upon arrival, he inspected the inverters and associated hardware. I told him that I had recently changed internet providers and could not get one of the inverters to connect to the new wireless network (for monitoring purposes). He corrected the issue in a manner of minutes! He told me there would be no charge for this service but I insisted on paying something, so he added a nominal fee, much less than I would have paid the company that installed the array. Then Zane cleaned the panels and now they look brand new! I could not be happier with the work that was done today and will definitely reach out to Solar Service the next time I need help. Zane came out did a thorough inspection to determine why my inverter was showing a fault. The problem would cost more than 4000.00 to repair. Austin energy pays so little for PV production that it would take more than 5 years to recover the repair cost. On a system that is already 12 years old. Hard to justify. Sad that Austin energy is so short sighted in their treatment of the producers that save them from having to build out new capacity.

Work was done well and they look great. I wasnt there in person when they completed and after asking for connection details I was texted instructions that used the wrong app and this got things in a bad state. Fortunately Harrison came out the next day and after 20 minutes of troubleshooting and resetting things I’m connected. Interface for device isn’t the most intuitive and I didn’t get instructions to register for warranty or manual for inverter but things are working well.

Tech charged me $95 to troubleshoot my system (is was not communicating). Was told he would have to charge me around $380 to simply connect to invert and change communication setting. I did this my self in 10 min. I don’t appreciate my system being help hostage to extremely high service charge. For literally 5-10 min work or less.

I've never written a negative review and never felt like a contractor was trying to take advantage of me until dealing with this company.I called them because my panels had power and were connected but not producing. The tech did some troubleshooting but then said additional techs would need to come out and that it would cost roughly $2000. When I asked what the issue is the tech on-site could not provide an answer and said that is why the other techs needed to come out. I asked if the $2k was going to solve the problem but he couldn't answer that. He then went to his truck to call the owner. After that he did more troubleshooting and came back with a price of $3800 to rewire the system. I asked if that would solve it to which he responded "even if it doesn't you'll have me for half a day". None of this was making sense so I pushed him for a detailed breakdown. That's when the math got even more fuzzy.I ended up calling another company that came out and found the inverter is bad and determined it's under warranty. Interestingly, I asked the original tech from Solar Services about this and he said it's not the inverter and it wouldn't be under warranty because he saw evidence of moisture. The second company said there is no evidence of moisture in the box. They submitted a claim and the replacement part was delivered yesterday. They will be installing in next week. The second company also found one of the communication wires was disconnected so the system could not be viewed remotely. This was an odd finding because it was previously connected and being monitored.I know this company has a lot of good reviews but that is not my experience. I found them very shady and possibly preying on consumers knowing there is limited public knowledge in this space and few companies doing the work.
